I’m Carol Anne, a food blogger from Glasgow, Scotland. I like to think of myself as a rock chick. A rock chick who happens to like cooking while she rocks out (or rocking out while she cooks). Rock Salt is where I share my culinary adventures with anyone who’s interested, and even some people who may initially think they aren’t…
I love to cook and bake, and while things might not always go perfectly in the kitchen, I like to think I can see the humour in any kitchen disaster type situation. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours and a team of professional cleaners to get to the humour, but it’s usually there. I’ll always try to be honest about my ups and downs, and I’ll always try to provide interesting posts about food that’s a little bit different, just like me.
If you’d like to contact me, you can get me on rocksalt@thisisrocksalt.com – I’m a friendly sort, feel free to send me a suggestion for a blog post, any questions you might have or just a message for the sake of it. I also love to get comments, so if you have any thoughts on one of my posts, why not take a minute and share it? Finally, you can find me on Twitter or Facebook.
Whether you’ve stumbled across Rock Salt or I’ve begged you to come and look, I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Carol Anne – I’ve just read your Mad Men cupcakes blog. If anyone had previously asked me how Mad Men could be improved, I think I might have replied with a derisive snort, but you have managed it. And not only that, you have spared me the misery of creaming butter and sugar together. Life is too short for that kind of faff. You are a genius. Incidentally, I think I may have rated your post at four, rather than five, stars. If so, please accept my apologies. I can only put it down to Fat Fingers. Probably as a result of too many cupcakes

Aw thanks Alison! What a sweet comment to write. I feel like most, if not all, things are improved with cake. Except maybe fingers
